"Utah, This Is The Place!"

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Ethan was in a play on Wednesday and Thursday. I have to admit...we were blown away! It was not just a play, it was a musical! I could not believe how well the kids knew their parts and how hard the teachers must've worked to make sure everyone had their parts memorized, their costumes clean, present, and ready to go. A LOT of work went into this production and I was so grateful that Ethan was able to participate in it.
Here is Ethan waiting patiently with one of his friends before showtime.
Isn't his casting picture so cute?

This is the final pose of the opening song "Utah, This is the Place," our state song.
Ethan lining up to square dance.
There he is in action with some pioneers and Brigham Young.
Ethan singing "Iron Wheels Are Rolling."
This is a prop of the state of Utah and all 29 counties. Ethan was in heaven with this song! Now he can sing all 50 states AND all the counties in Utah! Woohoo, Ethan!
"I represent the Rocky Mountain Elk as our state animal. The Elk is a proud and noble animal."
Ta Da! Here is his picture of the Elk for all to see.:)
This is the final position of all the kids on stage as they sang the State Song one more time.

The Prinicpal announced to all the parents that the kids all test high when it comes to their knowledge about our state because of this play. How cool is that!?

Afterwards, we had to celebrate. We decided to try the new Frozen Yogurt place in town-"u-swirl!" They offer 18 different flavors and plenty of toppings. Yum!
Look at Ethan. He's pretty happy with his success!

  1. We recently looked at the DVD that was done of Rachael's school play on the state. They grow up so fast. I am glad that Ethan had a good time being a hunter in the play.

  2. They do grow up so fast!I'm so glad this is a tradition that Barratt Elementary keeps. It was great! I'm sure Rachael's was fun to watch. And let me guess, it probably feels like a few months ago you were watching her, not 7 years ago? What to do!? I'm glad we keep on blogging, though, Holly! It's nice to think we are pausing time for a second so we can remember it later.:)
